Sycamore Farmer’s Market

Eat Fresh, Buy Local, and Be Well! Sycamore Chamber invites you to shop for locally grown just-picked produce, fresh from the farm.  Their mission is to bring farmers and community together. At these markets, you can be assured that you are only buying direct from the farmers. You are able to talk with each farmer about their products and get ideas on cooking and storing these items.

They also have specialty goods like freshly baked breads and confections, organic herbs, beautiful fresh-cut and potted flowers, annual and perennials, olive oils, fresh home-made sauces, local honey and jams, live music, and handcrafted products from area artists.

The lively and family-friendly Farmers Market brings fresh, high quality and locally sourced food to our community every Tuesday, from 3 to 7p.m., June through September. Located in historic downtown Sycamore, on the corner of Sacramento and State Street.

This is the 133th year of the Sycamore Chamber hosting the Sycamore Farmer’s Market. They host this market for the physical, social and economic health of ourselves and our community.

Sycamore’s Ribs, Rhythm & Brews Fest

Sycamore’s Ribs, Rhythm & Brews Fest 2019!! Bigger and better than ever! More ribs, beer, and music!

The Fest will be held August 24 from 5:00 to 11:00pm downtown, Sycamore on Elm Street and City Lot 1 & 2. RR&B Fest consists of award-winning rib vendors from across the region, craft beer, and crowd-pleasing musical entertainment from headliner, Back Country Roads with opening acts Mr. Myers Band, and DJ Toxic from Behind the Beats.

Guests can raise their glasses and sip craft beer from all over the nation. Delicious ribs and side dishes will be served up by multiple vendors and compete for the title of RR&B Fest Champion.

Mr. Myers Band will be opening the festival playing a little Caribbean Rock, a mixture of Reggae, Calypso,  Jimmy Buffett/Beach music, and their own originals. Followed by DJ Toxic from Behind the Beats.

Back Country Roads, the headline band, has played at events such as Country Thunder and opened for national acts such as Phil Vassar, Darryl Worley, David Lee Murphy, Neal McCoy, Steel Magnolia, Keith Anderson and Easton Corbin. They play mostly current Top 40 Country hits, with a few older selections and some originals in the mix as well.

Tech Thursdays: Windows 10 Basics + Intermediate

No need to get left behind in the digital world! Join us at the Sycamore Library for free classes on current tech topics, software programs, mobile devices, and more!

9:30 am BASICS: In this class you will learn how to navigate the Windows 10 interface, locate and manage your files, and customize your preferences.

6:00 pm INTERMEDIATE: In this class you will learn how to create shortcuts, adjust settings, uninstall programs, utilize Task Manager and Windows defender, and explore the Windows store.

No experience necessary. Register by phone or in person at the Customer Relations Desk.

Lit & Fit

Looking for an opportunity to get fit in mind and body? Join the Sycamore Library and Sycamore Park District for Lit and Fit! Participants will read and discuss popular titles each month, followed by a 45 minute walk around the indoor track.

Tuesdays on the Town: Touch a Truck

Come join the fun starting on Tuesday, June 11th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for Tuesdays on the Town: Touch a Truck, during the Sycamore Farmer’s Market. This event is great for all ages. We will be featuring a variety of city vehicles such as police cars, a fire truck, ambulance, street sweeper and the new snow plow. Local businesses will provide trucks as well!

Come take your picture with some of these awesome vehicles and get a tour of the inside! There will be lots to keep the family entertained. You won’t want to miss it!

Tuesdays on the Town will be held on a Tuesday of each month; June through September, and feature family-friendly activities. The downtown businesses will be open late and featuring special offers.
