Jazz in Progress Concert

The 18-piece community band Jazz in Progress will perform a fundraising concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at Boutell Memorial Concert Hall in the Music Building at Northern Illinois University. The band will perform a wide variety of jazz music from many decades of jazz music.

This concert is a benefit for the Charles Krull Music Support Fund. Dr. Charles “The Chief” Krull passed away on March 1, 2019. He believed music is important and children should be given the opportunity to discover it. This fund will provide aid to low income children in DeKalb County who are pursuing music education. It will help students pay for expenses such as musical instrument rental and fees for private music lessons.

Admission is free, but donations for the Music Support Fund will be accepted. The concert is open to all. Boutell Memorial Hall is accessible. For more information on Jazz in Progress, call 815-751-0006 or like the band on Facebook.
