About this event :
The Sycamore Park District Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings regarding its ACTION 2020 Sports Complex Expansion Project. The public is invited to attend. Park Board members and staff will be present as well as the project’s engineers to share drawings and discuss ball diamond development and associated features for the Sports Complex (435 Airport Road, Sycamore).
Tuesday, July 23 • 5:30-6pm
Sycamore Park District Maintenance Building, 435 Airport Road
In addition to ball diamonds, this project will also include accessible paths, a playground, two shelters, a concession/score keeping building with bathrooms, and parking lot. The Park District will seek funding for this project through an IDNR Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development Grant this fall.
Public input has been the cornerstone of the Sycamore Park District’s long-range plan, ACTION 2020.
This is one of seven projects outlined in the plan, for which the park district held over 70 meetings, presentations, and open houses for its development. This resulted in the completed Community Center, Splashpad, Dog Park, and Sled Hill.
