Sycamore History Museum’s Annual Meeting and Picnic

Join us to celebrate this past year’s accomplishments and find our plans for the future. SHM will provide hot dogs and brats. Members, guests, and those interested in learning more about the Sycamore History Museum are encouraged to attend this potluck dinner.
Dinner starts at 5:30, followed by a presentation, and guided tours of the new exhibit “Adventures To and From Sycamore.”
The Veterans Coffee Meet and Greets are scheduled for the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9:30am and is a way for veterans and non-veterans to socialize. Each month the locations rotate around the DeKalb and Sycamore area. This is a way to Honor Our Senior Veterans at several senior living facilities.
The host sites provide the coffee, lemonade and treats. The next host site is Wednesday, August 9th

Public Meeting for Proposed Improvements to Intersection of Annie Glidden Rd. and Fairview Dr.
The City of DeKalb invites residents to attend a public meeting on October 3, 2017, from
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hampton Inn Conference Room, 663 South Annie Glidden
Road DeKalb, IL 60115. The informational public meeting is part of the Phase I Study
for proposed improvements to the intersection of Annie Glidden Road and Fairview
In 2001, the City received federal funding for improvements to the intersection of Annie
Glidden Road and Fairview Drive. Working with the Illinois Department of
Transportation (IDOT), staff identified $799,215.25 available for additional
Representatives from the City of DeKalb and WBK Engineering will present exhibits and
discuss the general scope of the project. The general scope of the project includes
widening both Annie Glidden Road and Fairview Drive to accommodate turn lanes,
traffic signal modifications, and drainage improvements.
Written comments regarding the project may be completed at the meeting or mailed to
the address below no later than Tuesday, October 17, 2017, if you cannot attend.
The meeting location is accessible to persons with a disability. Persons with a disability
planning to attend should notify Patrick DiDiana by Tuesday September 26, 2017 to
request any special accommodations.
WOW Waterman: ‘Come to the Table’ for our new study 2018
WOW/Women of the Word Interdenominational Bible Study, Waterman, will begin our second semester on Thursday, January 18, 2018, with a Movie Day. We welcome new members to register, receive your notebook, meet our Staff, and enjoy a good movie. We have both a Morning Edition [9-11.30 a.m.] and an Evening Edition [6:45-9 p.m.] which can be alternated according to your schedule. Only the Morning Edition includes COW CLUB and BOW-WOW for preschoolers.
Our 19th year continues the theme ‘Come to the Table’, as we experience the difference that the presence of the Lord makes in our lives. Our new 10-lesson study of II Corinthians will begin the following week, Thursday, January 25th. Join us as we learn about the importance of HIS strength in OUR weakness, reconciliation and servant leadership.
Join with women from over 30 different churches and communities. Visitors and new members are always welcome! Registration Fee is $12. Scholarships are always available.
