You Can Uku-Ukulele Class

About this event :

Originating in the 19th century as a Hawaiian adaptation of the Portuguese machete, a small guitar-like instrument, the ukulele is currently experiencing a resurgence in popularity!  Love those old classic songs? Love the new ones? The ukulele is a gateway to all kinds of music and loads of fun. Join our hands-on, action-packed class and receive immediate, get-to-know-it, get-to-do-it instruction in ukulele!

Students are welcome to bring their own ukulele or purchase one from the instructor. Please contact Tamara Newquist (tnewquist@kish.edu) to determine if your ukulele is appropriate for the class (if you bought it in a souvenir shop in Hawaii, leave it at home).
