MLK Day Activity for Teens

About this event :

Dr. King inspired change through peaceful protest. During the week prior to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, teens can participate in an activism activity to raise awareness of something in need of change. What would you like to change at your school, in your neighborhood, in town, or in the country? Using supplies available in the Teen Room, create a protest sign which carries your message.

These will then displayed as part of a tribute to the accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr., on the day in which he is honored, Monday, January 21, and through the end of the month.

This FREE activity is for those in grades 6th-12th. For more information, contact Susan at susang@dkpl.org, or at (815) 756-9568 ext. 3400.
