Wednesday, May 23, 2018 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM CST
309 Oak Street
DeKalb, IL 60115
DeKalb Public Library, Bilder Family Meeting Room
The Dekalb Public Library has joined a 21st-century community-building initiative inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s “club for mutual improvement,” launched more than 200 years ago. Ben Franklin Circles are dedicated to exploring the 13 virtues identified by Franklin: Temperance, Silence, Order, Resolution, Frugality, Industry, Sincerity, Justice, Moderation, Cleanliness, Tranquility, Chastity and Humility. The group engages in conversations on what each of these virtues means today on a personal and societal level. This month we will be discussing justice, of which Franklin’s definition is “Wrong none, by doing injuries or omitting the benefits that are your duty.” This program is FREE and open to all ages. No registration is required. Coordinated by Tracy Rogers-Tryba. For additional information, please contact Samantha at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (815) 756-9568 ext. 1701.
