St. Mary’s Catholic School in Sycamore will host the Russell Hustle Trail Run on Saturday April 14, 2018 at Russell Woods in Genoa, Illinois.
The Russell Hustle winds through scenic Russell Woods on wide trails and single track as well as on a prairie trail along the Kishwaukee River. The 2K Run/Walk also travels through the woods on the main lane; flat and even and is appropriate for a variety of ages and abilities. The 5K race begins at 10:00 am and the 2K Fun Run/Walk begins after the 5K is completed at 11:00 am.
The Russell Hustle began in 2012. The event engages individuals in physical activity and is an excellent opportunity for families to spend quality time together. There is no minimum age for the race. Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners.
“This family friendly event is a lot of fun for all ages and allows everyone to get outside and enjoy the scenic natural beauty of Russell Woods. All proceeds support St. Mary Catholic School in Sycamore,” said Chris Collins, Race Director.
Registration is open and can be accessed by visiting https://raceroster.com/events/2018/15717/russell-hustle-5k-trail-run-2k-fun-run . Participants can choose to participate in the 5K Trail Run or 2K Fun Run/Walk. The registration fee for the 5K is $25.00 prior to April 1, 2018 and $30.00 beginning April 1, 2018. The fee for the 2K Run/Walk is $15.00 prior to April 1, 2018 and $20.00 beginning April 1, 2018.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Funds raised from this event provide scholarship funding for families, helping the school keep Catholic education affordable and accessible for all children in the community.
Race packets will be available to pick up on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 8am until 4pm at St. Mary’s Catholic School, 222 Waterman Street, Sycamore. Registration and packet pick up will also be available the morning of the race beginning at 8:00 am.
